How to Make the BEST Homemade Fabric Softener
The first thing you need to do is find a container that will hold your homemade fabric softener. No point in making a ton of it if you don’t have anything to store it in. I would suggest using an old fabric softener container since that’s what it was built for, but you could use a clean juice container or milk jug.
Once you have the container, now it’s time to get all the supplies. You actually don’t need much, just hot water, white vinegar, and hair conditioner (as neutral as you can get is best). Mix 5 cups of hot water with two cups of the hair conditioner. Mix them together until the conditioner is completely dissolved in the water.
Now add 3 cups of white vinegar to the mixture. Shake the container to mix everything together really well. It should all look like one homogenized mixture; you shouldn’t see any separate elements.
And now you have great homemade fabric softener! Just pour the mixture into a downy ball or use about two tablespoons of it in your washing machine tray.
