Clean Your Shower Drain {Naturally!}
The first thing you want to do is boil some water. Once it’s hot and boiling, take it and pour directly down the clogged drain. The boiling water gets things loose and makes this cleaning so much more effective.
Next, you’ll take ½ cup of baking soda and pour it right down the drain. Let it sit for just a bit to make sure it coats the whole inside of the pipe.
Then you’ll take ½ cup of vinegar and pour it down the drain. Some people like white vinegar, others like apple cider vinegar. You can see which works best for you, or just choose either one. Some people also like to mix some water into the vinegar, but that’s not always necessary.
Immediately after pouring the vinegar down the drain, cover it with a wet cloth or the drain plug. This keeps the reaction in the pipe instead of bubbling out into the shower. Let it sit for about five or ten minutes and then remove the cloth or plug.
Pour the rest of the now-hot water down the drain to rinse the pipes and clear anything else away! Your drain should be completely unclogged! If it still has issues, try again. Some really clogged drains need a few treatments to get clean again.
